A fantastic hotel in a really good location for skiing on the Zugspitze. The food served was excellent with lots of variety and the service of staff was also very good.
lake view, amazing breakfast, pool and sauna
The Location is magnificent
The corridors have not been modernised and are univiting. Rooms ar ok, but not quite 4 Star Standard
Location was great with fantastic views to Zugspitz and lake.
Hotel has a number of dining options which could be better explained to arriving guests.
fabulous breakfast, service, location.
better to go by own car.
Have stayed at Hotel for over 50 years. Always excellent.
We loved the setting on the lake, the wonderful breakfasts, and the very helpful and kind staff.
It was a pleasant one night stay. The breakfast offering was substantial and very good quality. Staff spoke English and were helpful when specific questions were posed. The location was perfect for our sightseeing plans.
The room safe did not have a key in the safe so we could not use it. It would have required a call or a trip to the front desk to use the safe. Since we stayed only one night we did not pursue.
The location is unbeatable. Directly on a beautiful lake which has a very accessible and interesting walking path all the way around. Also walking distance to Zugspitze, the highest peak in Germany. Finally, a short drive to the lovely town of Garmisch, where the 1936 winter Olympics was held. A wonderful experience.
Lovely location with unpsoilt views of gorgeous lake and mountains. Good breakfast. Spa facilities are reasonable. Good welcome from reception staff.
Worst managed hotel ever, and has lost its way with regard to service. Almost impossible to get attention at the bar, and also in the restaurant - waited 10 minutes to be seated (whilst staff walked past ignoring us - there was plenty of space) and then 20 minutes to be asked what we wanted. Poor food at dinner (bad actually). Needs new management to raise standards - for example if walking through any door the staff would always budge ahead of guests rather than wait politely. We were ignored from start to finish (except by the excellent hotel reception staff) - this perhaps explained by the fact that there was a wedding reception taking place - but the result was Fawlty Towers.
Loved the location and the views - beautiful spot. Also, they had many activities that a family could take advantage of - from row boats/canoes to tennis, hiking, biking - all included in the price of the hotel.
Location, very clean water in lake - great for swimming in the sunset / sunrise.
Noise in the forest-view room, esp. in the morning by the goods delivery.
Excellent breakfast buffet and great location right next to the Zugspitz cable car.
The decor is quite out dated and there was not a very good location to sit out and enjoy the view since the deck is only accessible during meals. It rained while we were there so we never even got to go out on it to eat. The location is so beautiful, I just had wished there had been a better place to congregate and enjoy the view since we could not see much out of our room.
Restaurant deck with stunning mountain / lake views. Also, the hotel was a great alternate base to visit Oberammergau and Fussen, and the castles of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof.
Great breakfast and wonderful views. Can't wait to come back
We were a group of 6 and thought the rooms would have two american size double beds. Instead the beds were consider twin size (although I would say they were 3/4 size. It worked out ok because we had two couples and two single travelers. But other vistors need to be aware when making reservations. Still would not keep me from returning
